Membership Application

Any natural person who has attained twenty-one years of age shall be eligible for membership in the Club.

Resident Members shall be those Members who reside or have their place of business less than forty road miles from the city limits of the City of Wilmington. Non-Resident Members shall be those Members who have neither their residence nor their place of business within forty road miles from said city limits. Non-Resident Members shall not be eligible to hold office or membership on the Club's Board of governors.

After the Board of Governors has reviewed the application, the Board will decide whether to place the applicant on the waiting list. If the applicant is not placed on the waiting list by the Board, that constitutes rejection of the application. If the applicant is placed on the waiting list, the application must still be approved by the membership Committee after interviewing that applicant, and must not receive any objections during the ten days posting to the membership. In the event that the candidate is not accepted, the primary sponsor will be notified of the decision by the Membership Committee.

The applicant must include a brief autobiographical sketch giving information as to years spent in Wilmington, number of children, membership in other clubs, names of other University and Whist Club members he/she knows and whether they are related to him/her.
